□ Project Title:
2025 International Student Press Corps and Diplomatic Mentoring Program for APEC Pre-Promotion and Public Diplomacy Enhancement
“APEC Backstage: Delivered by Diplomatic Mentors and International Student Reporters”
❍ Program Period: June 2025 – August 2025
❍ Program Details:
Pre-program workshop for the student press corps and group mentoring by professional diplomats
Selection of APEC Backstage topics and content production
Cultural heritage tour in Gyeongju
Writing articles and submitting them to media outlets in Korea and the participants’ home countries
□ Recruitment of Participants
❍ Eligibility:
21 international students from the 21 APEC member economies APEC Member Economies: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam
❍ Application Requirements:
-Mandatory Qualifications
GKS (Global Korea Scholarship) students currently enrolled in a Korean university (both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible) ※ General international students may also apply, but GKS scholars will be given priority·
Must be able to participate in the entire schedule including the pre-workshop and main event·
Must be able to write and participate in discussions in Korean
※ All lectures and discussions will be conducted in Korean
- Preferred Qualifications
TOPIK Level 4 or higher· Students majoring in International Trade, Political Science & Diplomacy, Journalism, or Communication

□ Participant Benefits
❍ Free participation in the entire program
❍ Provided with a group outfit and opportunity to join networking programs
❍ Field trip to Gyeongju, the host city of the APEC event
❍ All participants will receive a writing activity allowance of KRW 50,000
❍ An additional scholarship of KRW 200,000 will be awarded to the first 10 participants who successfully complete the writing task

July 24 (Thu): Document Screening
July 28 (Mon): Online Interviews (only for shortlisted candidates)
July 30 (Wed): Final Results Announcement
